Warning and Safety instructions
The controller set consists of two pieces of equipment designed to operate together. The controller
may only be used together with the mains transformer. Use of other mains transformers is not per-
mitted and will invalidate the conditions of warranty!
The mains transformer is a special safety transformer for toys, which exclusively serves to provide
power for the controller. Please check this piece of equipment from time to time, to ensure that there
is no damage to the housing, plugs or wires. If any damage is found, do not use it and get it repaired
by a specialist.
Under no circumstances, should you ever connect the tracks or the controller directly into the 230-
Volt mains (life threatening)!
Under no circumstances, should the mains transformer or the controller come into contact with
water!
Never open up the housing! Do not shorten or cut off the mains cable!
Before undertaking any electrical work on the layout, always unplug the mains transformer from
mains socket!
This high value product is designed only for use in a dry environment, indoors.
When in use, make sure that there are no loose connections to the mains transformer (stuttering
operation).
Connection
Connect the two yellow wires of the connector track (or similarly the two wires of your power feed) onto
the yellow clips on the controller (Fig. 1). To do so, simply press the yellow clips downwards and insert the
unisolated ends of the wires sideways into the opening which can be clearly seen (Fig. 2). After releasing
the connecting clips, the wiring is fastened to the track layout. Connect the mains transformer to the con-
troller using the cable from the transformer, and then plug the mains plug into the mains supply (Fig. 3)
– and now the model railway layout is ready for use. Electrically operated accessories should be connected
to the black and white clips.
Function principles of the controller and mains transformer
The controller set is best suited for use by beginners and for operation with just one train. The mains
trans-former unit reduces the mains supply of 230 volts into a safe voltage of 14 volts, necessary for the
operation. The two yellow clips on the rear of the controller then deliver the controllable power for opera-
tion to the tracks. By turning the control knob to the left, the loco will run to the left. Returning the control
knob to the centre, the loco will bring to a halt. By turning the control knob to the right, the loco will run
to the right. If the running direction of your loco is reversed, then simply swop over the two yellow wires
on the controller. The power necessary to operate electrical accessories (i.e. point motors, lighting, signals
etc.) comes from the black and white clips.
Automatic overload protection
In the event of overload, or likewise a short circuit, the controller switches itself off. In this case, please set
the control knob to the centre setting and remove the cause of the short circuit, or whatever caused the
overload. After a short interval to cool down, the equipment can be used again.
