er’s manual carefully. Learn the tools applications
and limitations, as well as the specific potential
hazards peculiar to it.

3 . G R O U N D A L L T O O L S . I f t o o l i s e q u i p p e d
with three-prong plugs, it should be plugged into a
t h r e e - h o l e e l e c t r i c a l r e c e p t a c l e . I f a n a d a p t e r i s
used to accommodate a two-prong receptacle, the
adapter lug must be attached to a known ground.
Never remove the third plug.

ES. Form habit of checking to see that keys and
adjusting wrenches are removed from tool before
turning it on.

aged should be carefully checked to ensure that it
w i l l o p e r a t e p r o p e r l y a n d p e r f o r m i t s i n t e n d e d
f u n c t i o n — check for alignment of moving parts,
binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, mount-
ing, and any other conditions that may affect its
operation. A guard or other part that is damaged
should be properly repaired or replaced.

24. BE SURE drill bit or cutting tool is securely
locked in the chuck.
2 5 . B E S U R E c h u c k k e y i s r e m o v e d f r o m t h e
chuck before turning on power.
26. ADJUST the table or depth stop to avoid dril-
ling into the table.
27. SHUT OFF the power, remove the drill bit or
cutting tool, and clean the table before leaving the
m a c h i n e .
