CHANGING V0LTAGE OF LVC MOTOR STARTERS

power tool from a line voltage other than the voltage

must be followed to modify the electrical package for
o p e r a t i o n f r o m t h e n e w l i n e v o l t a g e .
D i s c o n n e c t
M o t o r S t a r t e r f r o m p o w e r s o u r c e a n d p r o c e e d a s f o l -
l o w s :
S T E P 1 - R e m o v e t h e m o t o r j u n c t i o n b o x c o v e r a n d
change the motor lead connections for the proper line
voltage as shown on the motor nameplate.
S T E P 2 - C h a n g e t h e p r i m a r y o f t h e c o n t r o l t r a n s -
former for the proper line voltage, as follows:
T h e c o n t r o l t r a n s f o r m e r s u p p l i e d w i t h a l l s t a r t e r s ,
e x c e p t t h e 5 7 5 v o l t t h r e e p h a s e s t a r t e r , h a s a m u l t i -
t a p p e d p r i m a r y f o r o p e r a t i o n f r o m e i t h e r a 1 1 5 , 2 0 0 ,
230, 400 or 460 volt power system.
W h e n c h a n g i n g v o l t a g e o f a n L V C m o t o r s t a r t e r , t h e
t r a n s f o r m e r p r i m a r y p i g t a i l m u s t b e c h a n g e d c o r r e -
sponding to the new input voltage. See Fig. 8.
