1. The appliance name and serial number are on the d ata badge wh ich i s l ocated on the l ef t hand s ide of the fire base panel . Remove
the fender and ash-pan cover for access to read the data badge . (See Fi g s 1a n d 2).
3 . This fire must be installed and serviced regularly in accordance wi th t h e G as S a f e ty ( In s t a llation and Use) Regulations and the rules
in force by a competent person e . g . British Gas or CORGI mem b e r . W h ere s ol id fu e l h a s been used the chimney must be swept
before installation . This fire must be installed in accordance with th e i n s ta l l at i o n i ns tru ct i o n s .
4 . It is recommended that at least once a year the appliance shoul d be re m oved to check t he ca t chment space and the chimney for
debris . The f i re should be checked annually to ensu r e continue d cleara n ce of combustio n pro d ucts and that there is no excessive
build up of soot .
5. WARNING : This fire has a naked flame . Also certain parts , espe cially the canopy , w i ll be h o t w h e n in use . A fireguard conforming to
B . S . 6539 (Fireguards for use with solid fuel appliances) should b e use d for t he protec ti o n of children , the elderly or the infirm . Such
a guard is also recommended for pet animals .
6. After the fire is installed you may wish to fix a shelf above . Th i s is quite acce ptab l e pro vi de d that the underside of the shelf is at least
237mm above the fire and does not project more than 150mm f or wa rd . F or a d ee per s h e lf allo w 13mm increase in shelf height for
every 25mm increase i n shelf depth .
8 . When the fire is first used it may give off s ome slight smoke and sme ll b u t these will soon c lear a fter a few hours of use at the HIGH
setting.
10 . IMPORTANT: When considering fitting any heat i ng
appliance or wallpapering a room in which one i s fitted, if
blown vinyl or other heat sensitive wallpapers are used in
the vicinity of the heat source, then they may bec o me heat
damaged or discoloured especially just above the fir e .
11 . It is important for safe operation and to maintain e f ficien c y
that the fire is not operated with damaged or bro k en c oals .
IMPORTANT NOTE: Under no circumstances should ext r a
coals be used together with the existing coals.
ONLY THE CORRECT COALS SHOULD BE USED.
12 . If purpose built ventilation is provided for the fire, it shou l d
be checked periodically to ensure that it is free from
obstruction.
On pre-cast flue installations the walls must be dry lined
over the route of the flue. Dry lining is the use of
plasterboard w i th an air space between the wa l l and the
plaster board. Installation must not be made into pre-cast
flues that have plaster applied directly to the surfa c e of the
wall i . e . wet lined , because experience has shown that in
some wet lined installations the lack of heat in s ulation
provided by plaster can cause the plaster to shrink or crack
and other decoration
such as wallpaper to discolour or
detatch from the wall .
This product uses fuel effect pieces containin g R e fracto r y
Ceramic Fibre (RC F) , which are man-made vitreou s s ilica t e
fibres. Excessive exposure to these materials may cause
temporary irritation to eyes skin and respiratory tract,
consequently, it makes sense to take care when hand l ing
these articles to ensure that the release of dust is ke pt to a
minimum .
