Genera l ly t h e fir e w ill on ly need dusting . Any painted surface or
me tal par t sho u ld be c l e an e d w it h a damp cloth only . Never use
a n y a bra sive m a te rial s or m et al pol i sh on painted sur f aces or
meta l p art s.
Should any so o t a ccu mu l at i on become excessive , the fuel
ef f ect pi eces s h ould be r e m o ved f r om the fi r e for cleaning .
Cleani n g s h ou l d be c a rri e d out in a well - ventilated area or in the
open air , by ge ntly bru s hing w i th the pieces held away from your
fa c e s o th a t yo u avoid in haling the dust . We do not recommend
th e us e o f a no r mal d o mestic vacuum cleaner which may blow
dust b a ck into t he air . T he appearance of the f i re after you have
remov ed the lo ose co als is shown in Fig . 8 . If you need to
remov e t he c oa l bed to dust away larger part i cles then it is
necess ar y th a t you first remove the rear coal (Fig ?)and the
s i de ch ee k s (F i g 6 . ). A s you lift out the coal base take care that
y o u do no t d a m age i t a gainst the pilot burner ( Fig 5 .) and also
ta k e pr ec au ti o n s tha t particles do n o t fall on your carpet etc .

on the hearth o r into th e b ase of the fire .
