- Assemble the model completely, ready to fly. Repeat

the check of the working systems.

- We recommend that you ask a modelling friend to

hand-launch the model for you. He should be confident
about giving the model a fairly powerful launch.

- The model must always be launched directly into any

wind.

- Ask your colleague to launch the model firmly, with the

wings level and the nose slightly down

- It should now glide in a long, flat path to the ground,

without requiring any assistance from you. Adjust the
trims if necessary.

- Repeat the hand-glides several times until you are con-

fident about the model’s basic trim. While the aeroplane
is close to the ground, don’t use the controls unless it
is absolutely necessary.

- Once trimmed out as described, the model can be

given its first flight under power.

- Switch the motor on and give it a powerful launch

directly into wind, with the wings and fuselage level.

- Allow the “Arcus” to fly straight ahead for a while so

that it gains speed and height steadily. Don’t attempt to
turn the model while it is close to the ground.

- Adjust the transmitter trims if necessary until the model

climbs steadily directly into wind.

- Check the model’s response to control surface com-

mands. If the aeroplane is too responsive or not respon-
sive enough for your taste, adjust the control surface
travels once the model is back on the ground.

- Try out the model’s slow-flying characteristics at a safe

height, so that you know when the stall is imminent.

- Carry out the landing approach well above this mini-

mum speed.

- Observe the model’s behaviour in the air carefully. If

corrections to the trims are required, it is best to adjust
the mechanical linkages as soon as the model is back
on the ground, so that you can return the trims to cen-
tre. This will ensure that full trim travel is available to
both sides of centre for subsequent flights.

préférence une grande prairie exempte d’obstacles
(arbre, grillage, lignes à haute tension, etc.)

- Assembler le modèle. Effectuer à nouveau un essai des

fonctions.

effectuer un long vol plané.
