Operating Instructions
The Ritchie Pig & Lamb Weigher can be easily operated from either side by
one operator.
When the weigher is at the desired location. Go to one side of the weigher,
push to tilt the weigher onto one side, the wheel will lower. Move it further
round toward the exit and lower the weigher.
Ensure feet do not become
trapped under the weigher
. Now move to the other side of the weigher and
repeat. The weigher will now be resting on the outer cage (fig 5 & 6).
Before admitting an animal to the Weigher, check that the Tru-test indicator is
reading zero (see Tru-test indicator instructions on how to do this).
To admit an animal:
Lift the guillotine gate up and over to allow the animal to enter the weigh cage
(fig 7.) Then lower the gate.
Ensure that the gate is fully down.

To weigh an animal:
Use Tru-test indicator to weigh the animal. Complete any other operations
required.
To release an animal:
If the animal is to go straight out. Push / pull the handle (in the middle, fig 8) to
release the locking mechanism (fig 10 & 11), and slide the handle towards the
exit (fig 9 & 12) to open the bi fold gates (fig 13). Allow the animal to exit. Then
slide the handle inwards to close the gates (fig 14).
Ensure that the self-
locking mechanism has engaged (fig 10).
