Drum Cleaning
Cleaning blade removes
remaining toner from
drum after the image is
transferred to the paper.
To remove toner from
edge of the cleaning
blade, the drum turns in
reverse for about 5 mm
at end of each copy job.
Cleaning Blade
Toner Collection Coil
The cleaning blade removes any toner remaining on the drum after the image is
transferred to the paper. This model uses a counter blade system. (See the Core
Technology Manual for more information on cleaning systems.)
The cleaning blade scrapes off toner remaining on the drum. When toner builds up in the
cleaning unit, toner at the top of the pile is removed by the toner collection coil.
To remove the toner and other particles that are accumulated at the edge of the cleaning
blade, the drum turns in reverse for about 5 mm at the end of every copy job.
