5.1.2 REGULAR PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE FLOW DIAGRAM

NOTE: To replace the developer and the drum, the procedure to use depends on

the combination of developers and drum to be replaced (See 6-6
Development Unit)

Copy a C-4 chart in the following modes:
- B l a c k p h o t o m o d e
- Full color photo mode
- Full color letter mode

1. Wipe the platen cover first with a damp cloth

and then with a dry cloth.

2. Clean the exposure glass with water or alcohol

(be sure to clean it during EM).

3. Wipe the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd mirrors with a silicone

cloth or optics cleaning paper.

4. Clean the optical filter with a dry cloth.
5. Clean the original sensor with a dry cloth.
6. Replace the dust filter.

1. Wipe the transport belt, transport belt drive gear,

and transport belt mark sensor with a dry cloth;

2. Clean the toner shield glass with a dry optics

cleaning cloth (A1029111).

3. Clean the upper and lower registration rollers with

alcohol or water.
