Electrical Connections—Continued

Thermostats, switches, and field wiring are not supplied as standard equipment . When a thermostat is used to
control the temperature of the heated zone, follow the wiring diagram on the unit . Position the thermostat according
to the manufacturer’s instructions .
•
A mechanical ventilation interlock is required when all combustion air is provided by a mechanical air supply system .
• A #10 ring terminal is required for ground service conductor (by others) to attach to green ground screw on heater .
• All components and wiring illustrated are field-supplied .
NOTES:
• Specific electrical requirements vary depending on whether the unit is single-stage (120V), single-
stage (24V), or two-stage (24V).
• If any of the original wire as supplied with the appliance must be replaced, it must be replaced
with wiring material having a temperature rating of at least 302°F (150°C) and a minimum size of
16 AWG (1.0 mm
2
).
