Propeller
1. Use the included wrench to loosen the nut (
G
) from the drive
shaft (
H
). To secure the propeller (
I
) while loosening the nut, hold
the propeller.
2. Assemble in reverse order.
WARNING:
Always disconnect the battery before performing
propeller maintenance.
Rudder
1. Disconnect the servo linkage (
A
) from the arm (
B
) of the
rudder (
C
).
2. Remove the two screws (
D
) from the rudder mount (
E
) and
remove the rudder assembly.
3. To remove the rudder from the mount, tap the hinge pin (

Always replace the drivetrain parts when they are damaged or show
visible wear or injury and damage may result.
Lubricating the drive shaft is vital to the life of the drivetrain. The
lubricant also acts as a water seal, keeping water from entering the
hull through the stuffing tube.
Lubricate the drive shaft and propeller strut after every 30 minutes of
operation and/or every time you change the batteries.
1. Inside the hull, use the included L wrench to loosen the motor
coupling screw that holds the drive shaft to the coupling.
2. Disconnect the servo linkage from the arm on the rudder and
rotate the rudder to give clearance to remove the drive shaft.
3. Slide the drive shaft out from the stuffing tube and drive strut at
the rear of the boat.
4. Wipe the old lubricant and material from the drive shaft.
5. Lubricate the full length of the drive shaft assembly up to the
drive dog using Dynamite Marine Grease (DYNE4200). Also apply
grease to the motor coupling threads.
6. Carefully reinstall the drive shaft in the drive strut, stuffing tube
and motor coupling. If the drive shaft is difficult to remove from
(or install into) the coupling, rotate the drive shaft to the right
while pulling it from (or inserting it into) the coupling.
7. Reconnect the servo linkage to the rudder arm.
NOTICE:
Running the boat in saltwater could cause some parts
to corrode. If you run the boat in saltwater, rinse it thoroughly in
freshwater after each use and lubricate the drive system.
NOTICE:
Because of its corrosive effects, running RC boats in
saltwater is at the discretion of the modeler.
