electrical devices must be monitored by trained personnel.
• When operating on commercial premises, the relevant accident prevention
regulations of workers’ compensation boards for electrical equipment must be

c) Installation
• The electrical installation of the product must be handled by a professional,
familiar with the applicable laws and standards.
d) Product
• Install the switch in an environment compatible with the operating temperature
range specified in “Technical Data”.
• Switches installed in a closed or multi-unit rack assembly can experience a greater
operating ambient temperature than the ambient room temperature.

Install the switch in a way that allows sufficient airflow for proper operation.
• When installing the switch avoid overloading the circuits and make sure the switch
is properly grounded.
•
Only use only the provided hardware to install the DIN-Rail.
•
Do not use the device as a shelf.
•
Never install communications wiring or components during a lightning storm.
•
Be aware of loose or damaged cable connections. Never touch bare wires or
terminals unless the wiring has been disconnected at the network interface.
•
Use caution when installing or modifying wiring or components. Disconnect the
power supply before connecting / disconnecting equipment.

Installation
There is a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!

Be especially careful when installing the product in an electrical control cabinet with
dangerous voltages.
Only connect and install the product, when it is disconnected from the mains voltage.
Use caution when installing or modifying wiring or components. Always disconnect
the power supply before connecting / disconnecting equipment.

Depending on your installation location you either place the product onto the DIN
rail first and then connect power, or the other way round. Read the corresponding
section in this chapter first.
At all times, make sure not to supply any power to the product as long as installation
is not completed.

Intended Use
This product is an industrial 4+2 Port Gigabit PoE with SFP switch that is designed for small to
medium sized network environments. It has a broad operating temperature range and comes
with a DIN rail mount. The terminal block supports two power sources for situations where an
alternative power supply is required. A DIP switch can be set to trigger an alarm when a network
connection is severed or if a power source fails.
It is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture must be avoided
under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use
the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In
addition, improper use can result in short circuits, fires, electric shocks or other hazards. Read
the instructions carefully and store them in a safe place. Make this product available to third
