10. Charging the Integrated Rechargeable Battery
The installed rechargeable battery cannot be removed and must only be charged in the device. Never try
to remove the rechargeable battery or to charge it at an external charger.
Never discharge the rechargeable battery completely, since otherwise the service life of the rechargeable
battery is impaired. Charge the rechargeable battery as soon as possible after use in rechargeable battery
operation and do not store the effect light for an extended time with a flat rechargeable battery. If you do not
use the device for an extended period, charge the rechargeable battery completely and recharge it every
1-2 months.
The device is equipped with a charge protective circuit. This prevents overcharging of the integrated
rechargeable battery. The device must not be charged unsupervised. Charging is only permitted on fire-
proof or flame-retardant surfaces. There will be a small power intake even if the rechargeable battery is
charged. Therefore, never disconnect the device from the mains after charging.
• Connect the mains line to the device as described in "Mains connection".
• Put both switches SIGNAL and POWER in the position OFF.
Charge the device completely before first commissioning. A complete charge process at flat rechargeable
battery requires approx. 3.5 hours. Deep discharge must be avoided.
• To check the charge condition of the rechargeable battery, disconnect the device from the mains power supply.
Then put the switch POWER in the position ON. The rechargeable battery charging display now indicates the
charging state of the rechargeable battery.
• Therefore, never disconnect the effect light device from the mains after charging. For this, pull the mains plug from
the mains socket.
11. Mains or Rechargeable Battery Operation
The effect light can be supplied with power via the mains connection or the rechargeable battery.
Mains Operation
• Connect the mains line to the device as described in "Mains connection".
• Put the switch POWER in the position ON.
Rechargeable battery operation
• Disconnect the device from the mains power supply.
• Put the switch POWER in the position ON.
If the effect spotlight is used in rechargeable battery mode, the battery charge display can show a slight
loss of the rechargeable battery charge condition at first. This is normal and does not suggest a defective
rechargeable battery.
The battery runtime is enormously influenced by the chosen operating mode and the ambience temperature.
The battery runtime will reduce a lot when the ambience temperatures are low. This is normal and does not
suggest a defective rechargeable battery.
