Safe operation can no longer be assumed if:

-  the product shows visible signs of damage

-   the product does not work at all or works poorly (leaking smoke or a smell of

burning, audible cracking noises, discolouration to the product or the adjacent

surfaces)

-  the product was stored under unfavourable conditions

-  it was exposed to heavy loads during transport

•   Use the product only in temperate climate, never in a tropical climate.

•   Always pull the mains plug out of the mains socket before cleaning the power strip

or when the device will not be in use for a long time.

•   Never pour any liquids above or next to the product. You run the risk of causing

a fire or a fatal electric shock. If any liquid has still managed to enter the device,

immediately turn off the power supply to the mains socket at which the cable

box is connected (turn off the fuse/circuit breaker/residual current operated circuit

breaker of the associated circuits).

Only then can you unplug the mains plug of the cable box from the mains socket

and contact a specialist. Do not use the product any longer.

•   In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer’s

Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Facilities are

to be observed!

•   If you have any questions that are not answered in these operating instructions,

please contact our technical department or another specialist.

Assembly

Mount the cable box to e.g. a stable wall using the tiltable wall bracket. The cable exit must

be at the top.
Depending on the wall construction, use suitable screws and corresponding dowels. The spe-

cial dowels included in the delivery are only suitable for concrete walls.

When drilling holes in the wall or screwing tight, ensure not to damage any cables or

lines.

Getting started, use

a) Connection

Plug the grounded mains plug of the cable box into a regular grounded mains socket (wall

socket).
A red power LED at the side will then light up.

b) Pulling the power cable out

Pull the power cable carefully out of the cable box. Do not exert any force.

The cable reel inside the cable box only catch in place in a range of about 270° for

each rotation. This clicking in can be heard when pulling the power cable out.

The remaining range is used for loosening the catching so that the cable can be

wound up again without having to use a lever or similar.

Therefore, do not be surprised that the cable reel does not catch in place at each

point - this is normal and necessary for the function principle of the automatic reel.

Two eyelets at the cable stop are used to hang the power cable e.g. at a hook. At the same

time, the power cable can be prevented from being pulled back into the cable box in this way.
If necessary, the cable stop can be mounted to a different position of the power cable (loosen

several screws at the cable stop). The round side of the cable stop must point towards the

cable box.

The cable box must not be used without the cable stop! There is a risk of damaging

the grounded interconnection, danger to life due to electric shock!

c) Winding up the power cable (using the automatic reel)

As described above under b), the cable reel catches only in a range of 270° for each

rotation.

The remaining range is necessary to loosening the catching and for the power cable

to wind up on the automatic reels.

Pull the cable out until catching cannot be heard. This is the range where the automatic reel

loosens the lock of the cable reel.
Let the power cable now wind back into the cable box.

Do not let go of the cable so that it is pulled in on its own! There is a risk of damage

to the cable or the cable box!

For safety reasons, the manufacturer selected spring for the automatic reel of the

cable box that is not too strong so that the power cable is not pulled in too fast/hard.

Especially when outside temperatures are low and the power cable is therefore

relatively stiff, the reeling function may not work perfectly.

d) Overtemperature protection

A special thermal fuse is triggered when the temperature of the cable box becomes too high.

This will deactivate the connected consumer and the cable box will cool down.

Remove the cause of the overload. Keep in mind that the power input of the con-

sumers must not be higher than 1000 W (4.3 A) when the cable is wound up. The

max. input power is 3000 W (13 A) with the cable completely unwound.

After the cable box has cooled down sufficiently, it can be put into operation again. To do this,

press the red button on the side.

Maintenance and care

•  The product does not require maintenance. The product contains no parts that require ser-

vicing. Therefore, do not open/dismantle it. Maintenance or repair may only be performed by

qualified personnel or a specialised repair shop.

•  Disconnect the cable box from the mains voltage before cleaning. Disconnect the earthed

mains plug from the mains socket (wall socket).

•  To clean the product, a clean, dry and soft cloth is sufficient.

Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, cleaning alcohol or other chemical solutions,

since these could damage the casing or even impair operation.

Disposal

Please dispose of the unserviceable product according to the relevant statutory re-

quirements.
