Hydraulic connections
4.9.1.
Primary solar circuit
CAUTION
When switched off, the temperature in the collectors can
exceed 150 °C.
CAUTION
To protect against frost, use a water-propylene glycol
mixture as the heat transporting fluid.
CAUTION
Due to the high temperatures, the use of propylene glycol
and the pressure in the primary solar circuit, the primary
solar water connections must be made with the utmost
care, in particular with regard to insulation and
watertightness.
CAUTION
The pressure in the solar circuit can rise to 6 bar (0.6 MPa)
maximum.
CAUTION
Protection of the environment
Place a container of sufficient volume under the drain pipe
and the valve discharge pipe.

To be able to have pipework without degassers or bleed valves at
high points, the solar fluid flow rate must not fall below 0.4 m/s
during the degassing procedure.

The pipes must be as short as possible and always sloping
downwards between the collectors and the connection to the solar
calorifier.
