Magnetic tapes inspection and maintenance 

Non-observance of the recommended form of MT strip edges can result in stitching 

discrepancies and MTs jamming in USB-device for Magneto-Optical Visualization 

(MOV), and use of polluted and damaged MTs leads to device malfunction.

As a result of being damaged and worn out, plastic MT loses particles of the working layer . 

Consequently  the  quality  of  copying  worsens  and  the  USB-device  for  MOV  becomes  dirty . 

If the defects of MT working layer are visible, the MT is to be withdrawn from use .
