Always leave the transmitter turned on while the vehicle is in operation.
• To stop the vehicle, always turn off the vehicle‘s speed controller first and then disconnect the drive
battery completely from the speed controller.
Only now may the transmitter be turned off.
•
The transmitter’s coverage decreases in case of weak batteries (or rechargeable batteries). Replace the
batteries or rechargeable batteries with new ones.
If the vehicle drive battery is weak, the vehicle becomes slow or it does not respond correctly to the
transmitter.
The vehicle drive battery is not only for powering the motor via the speed controller, but the speed
controller also generates the voltage/current necessary for operating the receiver and steering servo.
For this purpose, a BEC („battery eliminator circuit“, electronic switching for the direct power supply of
the receiver, without any additional receiver battery) is integrated in the speed controller.
When the drive battery‘s voltage is too low, the receiver‘s voltage drops as well with the result that the
vehicle will not respond to the transmitter control commands.
In this case, stop driving immediately (turn off the speed controller, disconnect the drive battery from the
vehicle, turn off the transmitter). Then replace the vehicle’s drive battery or recharge the drive battery.
•
Both, motor and drive, as well as the speed controller and the vehicle drive battery heat up during ope-
ration. Before each battery change, take a break of at least 5 - 10 minutes.
•
Before a charging process, let the drive battery cool off completely.
•
Do not touch the motor, speed controller and battery until they have cooled off. Danger of burns!
•
If you operate the vehicle with a LiPo drive battery, the undervoltage detection must be turned on (we
recommend 3.0 V/cell or higher).
When the undervoltage detection is turned off, it comes to a deep discharge of the LiPo battery, which
will destroy it. Loss of guarantee/warranty!
When using a NiMH drive battery, the undervoltage detection should be turned off, to make better use of
the capacity of the NiMH battery. Stop this operation here when the vehicle becomes slow. Alternatively,
the undervoltage detection can be set to a lower value as that used for the LiPo battery. Please refer to
the Chapter 10. b).
