b) Checking the rotor blade holders
In order to ensure that the 4 main rotor blades (1) are
aligned to each other at an angle of 180° during operation,
the blade holder screws (2) must not be overtightened.
If you tilt the model helicopter 90° to the side, the rotor
blades must be able to fold down by themselves, as
shown in Figure 5 above.
Caution!
Do not loosen the blade holder screws too
much, otherwise the blade tips will rotate at
different heights.
Caution!
Use a suitable screwdriver to tighten the
screws and make sure that you do not use too
much force. The threads or the screw material
may be damaged otherwise.
c) Checking the centrifugal weight rod
Just like the main rotor blades, the centrifugal weight rod
(1) on the upper rotor must be able to move freely.
Move the centrifugal weight rod up and down by hand on
one side (see arrows in Figure 6), and check that the ball
joints (2) can move freely.
The mechanical parts should move freely, but there must
not be any slackness in the bearing.
