.
9.2. Troubleshooting The Web Interface
The section assumes that the status LEDs on the front panel of the AN-50 terminal
indicate normal functionality.
If, after using HTTP commands to try to log onto the AN-50 terminal the General
Information page does not appear on-screen, several possibilities exist. The first test is
to ping the terminal from the host computer by entering the following text from the
command line:
>Ping 192.168.25.2
Note the IP address used in this example is the default address supplied by the factory.
If the IP address has been changed, it is important to use the current address. The
system will always respond to ping frames less that 577 bytes in length.
If the ping test is successful (i.e., the computer was able to send and receive packets
to/from the terminal) then the problem may be with the IP address that was entered or
with the HTTP client itself. Retype the address or re-boot the host computer to try to
resolve the problem.
If the ping is unsuccessful, there may be problems with the IP address that you are
using. Try retyping the address. If this fails, and it appears you have forgotten the IP
address of the terminal, perform a long reset to restore the terminal to the default value.
Warning: performing a long reset will restore the AN-50 terminal’s IP address
(192.168.25.2) and IP Subnet Mask (255.255.255.0) to the factory default value.
Table 8: Web Interface Diagnostics
Symptom
Possible Problem
Solution
Incorrect IP address and/or
Subnet Mask.
Perform a ping test from the
host computer command line.
If the ping test is unsuccessful,
then the problem is with the IP
address. Perform a long reset to
apply the default address
(192.168.25.2) and Subnet Mask
(255.255.255.0)
Problems with host computer,
or AN-50 terminal.
If the ping is successful try a
short reset of the AN-50, and/or
reboot the host computer.
Home page
(General
Information)
cannot be
accessed.
Host PC ARP table is
incorrectly configured
Run “arp –d” whenever the AN-
50 terminal is swapped. Check
that the host PC’s Subnet Mask
matches that of the AN-50
terminal. Check that the host
PC’s address is 192.168.25.n,
where ‘n’ is not equal to 0, 2, or
255.
