To assist in removing gas spring (

), you will need
a locking mechanism (

) to hold gas spring in place, for it
is under load

Apply locking mechanism (

) around gas spring

) and tighten to hold gas spring in place

Remove clip (

) from top end of gas spring (

Unbolt lower gas spring head (

) from ladder
pivot tube plate (

Hold gas spring (

) and angle out until the top
end releases from the ball stud (

) when it has been removed.
**CAUTION** gas spring (

) will extend
