Rotating the Drill Clamp
To change the angle of the drill clamp, loosen the locking nut located on the
underside of the drill clamp as show in Fig. 7.6. Position the drill clamp at the
desired angle using the angle indicator scale as a reference (Fig. 7.7).
Once the desired angle has been reached the drill clamp can be locked back
in place by tightening the locking nut.
This feature is to be used only with router type cutters and not
powered drills. Do not attempt to cut at an angle with ordinary
drill bits.
Swing away headstock
It is possible to machine larger workpieces using the swing away headstock
facility, allowing the headstock to overhang a bench or other work surface if
the drill stand is securely fastened down.
To reposition the headstock loosen the two blind set screws located on the
back of the base using a hex wrench (Fig. 7.8).
Now rotate the headstock to the desired angle in line with the workpiece and
retighten the blind set screws (Fig. 7.9).

Setting the Depth Stop
To set the depth stop on the headstock, press the depth stop lock (Fig. 7.5)
and adjust the height of the depth stop rod. Release the depth stop lock to
secure the rod at the required height.
Further fine adjustment can be made by rotating the depth stop rod
(clockwise to lower, counter clockwise to raise).
