Installation
Connection to the car’s electrical system
Start by disconnecting the link to the car battery’s
negative pole to avoid a short circuit in
connection with installation work.
Secure the amplifier safely in the car. If you need
to drill holes to fit the amplifier, you must make
sure that you do not drill holes into cables, hoses
or electronic or mechanical components. There
must be air around the amplifier’s cooling vents
and they must not touch anything in the car.
Connect the amplifier’s negative clamp (8) to the
car chassis (shiny metal), and the amplifier’s
positive clamp (8) to the positive pole of the car
battery. Use well-insulated copper leads with a
cross-section of at least 6 mm2. The power supply
leads must be as short as possible.
Connect the amplifier’s control clamp (8) to the
socket in the car stereo that controls the power
supply to external equipment, e.g. electrical
antenna. This socket is often labelled „REMOTE“
or “RMT”. Use a copper lead with a cross-section of
0.75 mm2.
Make sure that you run the power cables as far as
possible from the signal and speaker cables to
avoid interference.
Connection to the car stereo
The amplifier’s signal inputs should be connected
to the car stereo through its phono socket (1).
The sockets on the car stereo are often labelled
„PRE“ or „PRE-OUT“. Ensure that the sockets are
connected according to their colour code.
Connection to the car speakers
Stereo: Connect the car speakers to the amplifier’s
speaker outputs (6). Check the polarity so the
speakers are in phase.
Bridge circuit: Connect the speaker to the L+ and
R- or L- and R+ speaker outputs on the amplifier.
This provides the amplifier with higher output
power.
Once all the connections have been made and
checked, you can re-establish the connection to
the negative pole of the car battery.
Setting the input sensitivity
Start by turning the Gain button (3) to minimum
(anti-clockwise).
Turn on the car stereo and play a piece of music.
Turn the car stereo up to around 50 per cent of
the maximum volume.
Slowly turn the Gain button up (clockwise) until
the music reaches the required sound level.
