Using the GPS Locator and
Safer Walking App
View the locator’s current location
The location of the locator will be shown on
the map on the ‘Home’ screen, as a marker
labelled with the device name.
You can zoom in and out of the map using a
two finger pinch, and move the map around
by sliding one finger across the screen.
The location updates every 4 minutes when
moving and is accurate to around 10 metres
when outside.
NOTE: The location will not update accurately
while the person is travelling in a car, on a train,
on a bus, or inside some buildings.
Call the locator at any time using the
‘Call’ button on this Home screen.
View information about the locator
Below the map you can view the time and date that the locator last
reported its location, and the battery level at that time.
How to return to the Home screen
You can view the ‘Home’ screen at any time by pressing ‘Menu’ on the
top left of the screen and choosing ‘Home’ from the list of options (see
page 17).
