4 Slingshot™ Base Station Installation Manual
Broadband Internet Installation
Contact a local internet service provider to have a dedicated, broadband internet connection installed. The
internet connection must be always on and available via an unblocked, public IP address.
Dial up
connections and connections with a built-in router are not supported .
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Set Up
Set up the provided uninterruptible power supply, or UPS, as described in the instruction sheet provided with
the device. The UPS should be set up in the location where the base station will be located when delivered.
Note:
Review the instructions provided by the UPS manufacturer prior to connecting any equipment to
the device.
1.
Connect the internet modem directly to the ethernet surge protection port labeled ‘IN.’
2.
Using an ethernet cable, connect the ethernet surge protection port labeled ‘OUT’ to the Slingshot base
station ethernet port (to be connected when base station is delivered).
3.
Using a second ethernet cable, connect the ethernet port in the UPS accessory slot to the UPS
management port on the Slingshot base station (to be connected when the base station is delivered).

Refer to the instructions provided with the UPS device to properly set the Voltage Dip Switch.
5.
Connect the UPS to a power source as described in the manufacturer’s instructions.
Note:
A region specific power adapter cable is supplied with the 220 V UPS as part of the Slingshot
system.
