Remove food from the device after drying. If the food has to be dried again, repeat the steps above.
Tips on drying:
The drying time may vary depending on:
- the size and thickness of the dried pieces (fineness)
- the number of trays used
- the quantity of foods dried
- the humidity in the room where the unit is used
- your preference in terms of the degree of food dryness.
It is recommended to:
- Control the drying process at least once every hour.
- Rotate and / or change the position of the trays
- Label the container used to store dried foods with a date and time of drying. This is helpful in the future to
determine the drying time and shelf life.
- Prepare the food properly before drying (wash, dry and cut)
- Assure suitable storage after drying, as this allows the high quality of products and nutrients to be preserved
for longer.
Storage:
- Put the dried food in the target containers only after it has cooled down.
- Food can be kept longer in a dark, cool and dry place.
- Removing the maximum amount of air from the container used for storing the dried products allows one to get
better results - we recommend vacuum storage.
- The optimal storage temperature is 15°C or lower.
- Never store dried foods in metal containers
- Containers in which dried food is stored should be tightly sealed.
- Check the state of dried foods. If you notice moisture, we recommend re-drying - this prevents decomposition
from starting.
- Dried foods should not be stored for more than 1 year - this maximum period is possible, if food iskept in an
airtight container in a refrigerator.
