5. How do you plan to manage your CobraNet network?
You can use the Mongoose Tracker to manage several key CobraNet settings – the CobraNet
transmit and receive Bundle numbers associated with the Mongoose host device, and the routing
of audio to and from the Mongoose CobraNet Bundles. If you want to view and manage other
CobraNet settings not included in the Mongoose Tracker, you can do so using an SNMP MIB
browser or the CobraNet Disco software. Note that to use SNMP, you must configure an IP address
for CobraNet. You can do this from within CobraNet Disco.
6. Will you include a backup CobraNet system in your design?
If you plan to include a redundant CobraNet system in your design to handle failover situations,
you’re in luck. Mongoose makes this easy for you. The Mongoose hardware contains two CobraNet
ports, one for your primary network and one for your secondary network. Connect the secondary
port to your backup system and, voila, you’re good to go. If the primary network fails, the secondary
network automatically becomes active.
