GreenHouse Blowdown Parallel Evaporation System
Preventing Over-pressurisation
After Evaporation
Should over-pressure venting occur:
1. Immediately turn off gas supply
2. Either disconnect gas inlet or lift Blowdown Head Safety Pressure Relief Valve
to remove excess pressure.
3. Immediately turn off any heating.
Important Note
Allow dry ice/acetone mixture to reach ambient temperature before
disposing of it into a suitable waste solvent container.

Warning
The Blowdown Head Safety Pressure Relief Valve and Gas Inlet
Safety Pressure Relief Valve are designed to vent at nominally
4 to 6psi. Therefore under normal and correct operation
procedures neither valve should be venting.
!
When evaporation is complete:
a. Turn off heat and allow gas to flow until the base unit is cool
b. Turn off inert gas supply
c. Disconnect gas inlet and outlets to Blowdown Head
d. Remove the two sealing knobs and remove the Blowdown Head
e. Carefully remove the circular glass and lift out the rack
f. Remove flask from bottom of cold trap and allow solvent to warm to ambient
temperature
Warning
Dry ice causes burns!
Ensure that suitable protective clothing
(eye protection, insulated gloves and apron) is used during filling
or emptying.
