TROUBLESHOOTING
We do not expect you to have any problems with your phone, but if you do, the
following suggestions might help.
Problem
Solution
Low volume or unusual sounds.
• Someone has picked up at
another phone on the same line.
Hang up the other phone.
• Press
on the handset to turn
up the handset’s volume or
VOLUME
s on the base to turn
up the speaker’s volume.
Severe noise interference.
• Return the handset to the cradle
for a few seconds to reset the
security access protection code,
then try again.
• You might be moving out of
range (see “Out of Range Indi-
cations” on Page 29). Move the
handset closer to the base or
relocate the base.
• Keep the handset away from
computers, remote control toys,
wireless microphones, alarm
systems, intercoms, room moni-
tors, fluorescent lights, and
electrical appliances.
• Move to another location or turn
off the source of interference.
The phone cannot be operated at a
useful distance from the base
because the signal becomes weak or
noisy (handset’s range has
decreased).
• Adjust the base’s antenna so it
stands straight up.
• Return the handset to the cra-
dle, and recharge the battery.
• Be sure neither antenna is
touching a metal surface.
