Preparation
Follow these steps to install batteries.
1. Pull up the cassette latch, then pull open the cas-
sette compartment door.
2. Push the battery compartment door’s tab in the
direction of the arrow. The battery compartment
opens.
Caution: The battery compartment door is
attached to the cassette player. Do not try to
remove it.
3. Place the batteries in the compartment, as indi-
cated by the polarity symbols (+ and –) marked
on the back of the battery compartment door.
4. Press the battery compartment door to close it,
then close the cassette compartment door and
push the cassette latch until it snaps.
When the sound becomes weak or distorted or the
cassette player stops operating properly, replace the
batteries.
Warning: Dispose of old batteries promptly and prop-
erly. Do not burn or bury them.
Caution: If you do not plan to use the cassette player
with batteries for a week or more, remove the batter-
ies. Batteries can leak chemicals that can destroy
electronic parts.
