3. Route the adapter and modular cords 

through the grooves on the bottom of 
the base.

4. Plug the short modular cord into the wall 

plate jack, then align the base’s keyhole 
slots with the wall plate studs and slide 
the base down to secure it.

5. Plug the adapter into a standard AC 

outlet.

6. Push up on the handset holder, then lift 

and remove it. Turn it over and rotate it 
so that the oval-shaped indention is at 
the bottom, then slide it down into its 
slot. Snap it back into place so that it 
holds the handset.

On a Wall

To mount the phone directly on a wall, you 
need two screws (not supplied) with heads 
that fit into the keyhole slots on the bottom of 
the base.

2. Plug one end of the supplied long 

modular cord into the 

TEL LINE

 jack on 

the back of the base.

3. Insert the supplied AC adapter’s barrel 

plug into the 

DC IN 9V 

jack on the back of 

the base.

4. Route the adapter and modular cords 

through the grooves on the bottom of 
the base.

5. Align the base’s keyhole slots with the 

mounting screws and slide the base 
downward to secure it.

6. Plug the modular cord’s other end into 

the phone jack, and plug the adapter 
into a standard AC outlet.

CONNECTING AND 
CHARGING THE BATTERY 
PACK

The phone comes with a rechargeable 
nickel-cadmium battery pack in the handset, 
but not connected. Before using your phone, 
you must connect the battery pack, then 
charge it for about 24 hours.

1. Press down and slide off the battery 

compartment cover.

2. Lift the battery pack out of the 

compartment. 

3. Plug the battery pack’s connector into 

the socket in the compartment (the 
connector fits only one way), then place 
the battery pack in the compartment.

4. Replace the cover.

To charge the battery pack, place the 
handset either faceup or facedown on the 
base. The CHARGE/IN USE indicator on the 
base lights and

Important: Be sure the battery pack is 
properly connected before you try to charge 
it. The CHARGE/IN USE indicator lights 
when the handset is on the base, even if the 
battery pack is not connected. 

Notes:

• When you first use the phone after 

charging or recharging the battery pack, 
the phone might not work and you might 
hear an error tone when you press
