Note!
All measurements should be recorded in the Thermoscopic Mixing Valve
Performance Record (Log Book)
Note!
K = Kelvin, the unit of thermodynamic temperature. The unit "Kelvin" is equal
to the unit of "Degree Celsius". Kelvin is used for a difference of Celsius
temperature.
Start
Are critical
components due
for replacement?
2. If valve not in recent use exercise thermostat.
(See Commissioning)
No
3. Measure & record blend temperature & flow rate
@ maximum flow (See Commissioning).
Has mixed water
temperature changed by
more than 1K?
4. Measure & record blend temperature & flow rate
@ minimum flow (see Commissioning).
Yes
Yes
5. Check/clean strainers (See
Maintenance Procedure - Inlet
Strainers).
7. Check/open isolating valves.
6. Check/replace check valves (See
Maintenance Procedure - Check
valve Cartridges).
8. Re-set & record blend temp.(See
Commissioning - Maximum
Temperature Setting).
9. Ensure supply temperatures & pressures and flow
rate at time of test are within valve specification (See
Operating Parameters). Record all these.
No
10. Isolate CW supply (See Commissioning).
11.Measure & record max & final blend temp. (See
Commissioning).
Is max. Blend temp. >2K
above previous recorded
value?
Is final blend temp.
>2K above set blend temp?
12. Replace thermoscopic unit and,
if necessary, other critical parts.
13. Carry out Commissioning procedure
(See Commissioning Checks).

Finish
1. Measure & record supply temperature and
pressures, if possible (See Commissioning).
