Gears
Shimano gearhubs
The Shimano Nexus and Alfine are internally geared
hubs which are virtually maintenance free. With the
Shimano Nexus and Alfine hubs it’s possible to shift
while standing still, for example in front of a traffic light.
Decrease the force on the pedals while shifting
for smooth shifting and a pro-longed lifetime of
the hub.
All QWIC e-bikes with a mid-motor and a Shimano
geared hub are equipped with a gearsensor. The
purpose of this sensor is to cut off the motor power for
a split second to make sure no power is applied to the
hub while shifting. This will increase the lifespan of your
hub.
The Shimano Nexus hub is supplied with a Revoshifter
on the right side of the handlebar. Adjusting the gear
is achieved by rotating the grip. The current gear is
displayed in the small window on the Revoshifter.

De Shimano Alfine gearhub is supplied with a Rapidfire
system. Adjust the gears by pushing the levers with
your thumb and index finger.
