3. MOUNTING OPTIONS
1.
Disconnect the power by removing fuses
or turning off circuit breakers.
2.
If there is an existing outlet box, ensure it
is clearly marked “Suitable For Fan Support”.
If it is not so marked, it must be replaced with
an approved one.
3.
Secure the outlet box (or make sure the
existing box is secured) directly to the building
structure. Use appropriate fasteners and build-
ing materials.
4.
Figures 1 and 2 are examples of different
ways to mount the outlet box in different situa-
tions.
5.
To hang the fan in locations where no ceil-
ing joist is available, a hanger support bar may
be required (Fig. 3). Quorum distributes
approved hanger support bars and outlet boxes.

4. ASSEMBLING THE CABLE SYSTEM
WARNING
-
Turn off the power!
DO NOT fasten the blades to the fan
until it is assembled and hanging from
the ceiling. To do so now will likely
break the blades or will certainly be
unmanageable.
1.
Secure the circular mounting plate
to the outlet box using the 2 long steel
screws supplied with the fan.
Cable System Assembly
2.
Locate aircraft cable which extends
from the motor assembly. Thread the
looped end through the elongated hole in
the bottom of the canopy assembly. (Fig.
4) Then fasten the attached conical cable
holder to the bottom of the canopy
assembly using the two small screws
provided.
3.
Remove aircraft cable from the box
marked with the desired hanging exten-
sion from the ceiling (6, 12, 18, 24, 36,
48, 60, or 72 inches).
Remove the fastening plates from the tips
of the arms on the canopy assembly. Place
the two loops from the selected cable over
the tapped hole nearest the canopy on
ONE of the arms. Thread the cable in the
channel of the rubber insert and secure the
loops with a fastening plate and screws
removed earlier. (Fig. 5)
Lay the cable so it passes through the rub-
ber inserts on the other two canopy arms.
Secure the remaining two fastening plates
with the screws removed earlier. (Fig. 6)
