Chapter 1 Ethernet Port Configuration
1.1 Ethernet Port Overview
S5012G Ethernet Switch provides 12 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet ports and four
Combo GBIC ports for which you can select the specific module types.
S5012T-12/10GBC Ethernet Switch provides 10 GBIC ports for which you can select
the specific module types, two 10/100/1000Base-T ports and two Combo
10/100/1000Base-T ports.
S5024G-24/20TP Ethernet Switch provides 20 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet ports and
four GBIC ports for which you can select the specific module types.
S5000 Series Ethernet Switches support the following Ethernet port features:

10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet port supports MDI/MDI-X auto-sensing. It operates
in 1000M full-duplex, 100M half-duplex/full-duplex, or 10M half-duplex/full-duplex
mode. It can negotiate with other network devices to determine the operating
mode and speed. Thus the suitable operating mode and speed can be worked out
automatically and the system configuration and management is greatly
streamlined.

GBIC port operates in 1000M full-duplex mode. The duplex mode can be set to
full
(full-duplex) and
auto
(auto-negotiation) and its speed can be set to
1000
(1000Mbps) and
auto
(auto-negotiation).
z
Combo GBIC port operates in 1000M full-duplex, 100M half-duplex/full-duplex,
and 10M half-duplex/full-duplex modes.
The configurations of these Ethernet ports are basically the same, which will be
described in the following sections.
