G e n e r a l l y , t h i s i n p u t i s p r o v i d e d b y c o n n e c t i n g i t t o
the transmit clock, XCLK, output from the ACE. This is
a c c o m p l i s h e d b y c o n n e c t i n g p i n s 3 a n d 6 o f t h e j u m p e r
( f i g u r e s 1 6 a a n d 1 6 c ) . R C L K m a y b e r e c e i v e d f r o m a n
e x t e r n a l s o u r c e b y c o n n e c t i n g p i n s 2 a n d 3 ( f i g u r e
16b).
T r a n s m i s s i o n o f X C L K c a n b e u s e d t o s y n c h r o n i z e
c o m m u n i c a t i o n s w i t h a p e r i p h e r a l o r t o p r o v i d e a s h i f t
clock to a receiver. XCLK is transmitted by connecting
pins 5 and 6 of the jumper block (figure 16b).
A U X I N i s t h e a u x i l i a r y i n p u t f r o m a p e r i p h e r a l
device. Connecting AUXIN to AUXOUT provides a loopback
mode of operation. That is, whatever is transmitted by
t h e p e r i p h e r a l w i l l b e f e d b a c k t o t h e p e r i p h e r a l .
T h i s i s i m p l e m e n t e d b y c o n n e c t i n g p i n s 2 a n d 5 o f t h e
jumper block (figure 16c).
