BMC Firmware Update Utility 

The BMC (Baseboard Management Controller) firmware update utility is a DOS-based program used to update 
the BMC firmware code. This utility should only be run if new firmware code is necessary. 

BMC Firmware Update Procedure 

Before proceeding, read the BMC firmware release notes to determine which update utility version is appropriate 
for the new firmware version. 

1.  Copy the BMC firmware update utility 

UPFW.exe

 and BMC firmware image file

 = firmware version) to an easily accessible location such as remote HDD or USB key. 

 

Note:

  

Do not use memory management utilities in the DOS environment during the firm-
ware update procedure. Management utilities may cause the firmware update 
procedure to fail.

 

2.  In the Web Server, go to

Firmware Upgrade

 and click 

Enter Upgrade Mode

3. In 

Upgrade Mode

, use the following commands to upgrade the firmware. 

To save any configuration changes and apply them after updating the firmware: 

upfw /s S47vxxx.bin

To update the firmware with factory default settings:

4. Press
