tor to be removed from the boat in its entirety should major service be required. If this hatch is removed, it
must be rebedded with an approved marine sealant to prevent leakage into the bilge area. Pursuit strongly
recommends that this hatch only be removed and reinstalled by your Pursuit dealer or qualified marine
technician.
FUEL INJECTED GENERATORS REQUIRE BLEEDING OF AIR FROM THE FUEL DELIV-
ERY SYSTEM PRIOR TO INITIAL START-UP. BLEEDING OF THE FUEL SYSTEM WILL
ALSO BE REQUIRED IF THE GENERATOR IS ALLOWED TO RUN OUT OF FUEL. CON-
TINUED ATTEMPTS TO START THE GENERATOR WITHOUT BLEEDING THE FUEL SYS-
TEM UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES CAN LEAD TO ENGINE DAMAGE OR ERRATIC
OPERATION. THIS PROCEDURE MUST BE COMPLETED BY YOUR SERVICING DEALER.
GENERATOR PANEL
These switches control the starting, running, blower, AC power selector
and stopping of the generator. The procedures may vary depending on
the model and type of generator installed in your boat.
Generators charge the battery just enough to compensate for the DC
electrical current the engine requires to operate. Therefore, it is
important to activate the battery charger to maintain the house battery
whenever the generator is running.
GENERATOR ENGINES PRODUCE CARBON MONOX-
IDE WHICH IS A LETHAL, TOXIC GAS THAT IS
COLORLESS AND ODORLESS. IT IS A DANGEROUS GAS THAT WILL CAUSE DEATH
IN CERTAIN LEVELS. ONLY OPERATE THE GENERATOR IN WELL VENTILATED AR-
EAS AND NEVER OPERATE THE GENERATOR WHILE YOU ARE SLEEPING.
AC POWER SELECTOR SWITCH
The generator panel will be equipped with this switch if the optional AC generator has been installed in your
boat. Move the selector switch to the “SHORE” position when connected to dockside power. Move the selector
switch to the “OFF” position when disconnecting the dockside power or when no AC power is being supplied
or for starting the generator. Move the selector switch to the “GENERATOR” position when the generator
is being operated.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO START THE GENERATOR WITH THE SELECTOR SWITCH IN
THE "GENERATOR" POSITION. WAIT UNTIL THE GENERATOR HAS WARMED UP BE-
FORE TRANSFERRING THE ELECTRICAL LOAD. ONCE THE GENERATOR HAS RUN FOR
3 OR 4 MINUTES, PLACE THE SWITCH IN THE GENERATOR POSITION.
4.7 Electrical System Maintenance
12-VOLT DC ELECTRICAL SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
At least once a year, spray all exposed electrical components behind the helm and in the plugs, with a protector.
Exterior light fixture bulbs should be removed and the metal contact areas coated with a non-water soluble
lubricant like petroleum jelly or silicone grease. The sockets should be sprayed with a protector. Care must
be taken not to get any oil or petroleum jelly on the glass portion of the bulbs as this will cause the bulb to
overheat and burn out.
