Installation Instructions (continued):
The diagram below shows the installation of a typical disinfection system and the optional components that may be used for the
installation. The use of a bypass assembly is recommended in case the system requires off-line maintenance. To prevent possible
contamination of water in the plumbing, which may pose a health hazard, do not use the bypass line and valve if your source of
supply is untreated surface or ground water. If your source of supply is treated municipal water, use of the bypass line and valve
will permit uninterrupted water supply in the event of a system malfunction. The installation of a drain valve, while not required,
will allow the service technician to drain the system of water prior to conducting any service on the unit.

UV systems may be installed vertically with the outlet port at the
top of the system, to eliminate any trapped air, and the inlet port at the
base, as shown in the diagram.
• Ensure the Controller is kept dry and away from any potential condensation.
Use drip loops so moisture does not run down lamp harness or power
cord and into the Controller. The Electric Controller must remain dry.
• Prior to installation, remove protective caps from inlet and outlet ports of
the UV reaction chamber.
