Administration
Administration menus include the Events, Firmware Update, Import/Export settings, Service, Protocol
Registration menus.
Events Log
The log of Events appears. Events are added to the top of the list. Each item includes:
•
Index number
– Begins with 0 at system startup.
•
Time
Stamp
– Date and time the event happened.
•
Device
– Pool, Volume, Physical Drive by its ID number.
•
Severity
– See below:
•
Information – Information only, no action is required
•
Warning – User can decide whether or not action is required
•
Minor – Action is needed but the condition is not serious at this time
• Major – Action is needed now
•
Critical – Action is needed now and the implications of the condition are serious
• Fatal – Non-Recoverable error or failure has occurred
•
Description
– A description of the event in plain language.
To download the Events log, click on the Download Events button to save a zipped file listing the
contents of the log.
To clear the log, click the
...
icon and selection the
Clear Events
option.
Firmware Update
To update system firmware, make sure to first download the latest firmware from the PROMISE website,
and save the file to the administrator’s computer. The Firmware Update menu allows drag and drop, or
Browse functions to locate the downloaded firmware update file. You can also use TFTP from a remote
system if preferred.
Choose the update file and follow the on screen instructions to install the new firmware. A system reboot
will be required. Make sure there are no active users during the update process.
