OPERATION
WARNING! The laser is active while the trigger is depressed.
Please consult Laser Emitter precautions under Safety.
Letter references in parenthesis (A) refer to the included
Identification Key.
The infrared thermometer will automatically shut off if left idle
for more than 60 sec.
1. Choose Celsius or Fahrenheit by pushing the °C/°F Button
(B). The temperature reading (O) will show which
temperature scale is in use. This function is only available in
modes E, MAX, MIN, DIF and AVG.
2. The infrared thermometer has a distance to measurement
spot ratio of 12 to 1. The measurement area is 1 inch in
diameter for every 12 inches away. Ensure you are an
adequate distance away to measure the area.
3. Turn the multi-beam laser (I) ON or OFF by depressing the
measurement trigger (F), then pressing the °C/°F button (B).
The laser indicator icon (J) will appear when the laser is ON.
4. Select a function (See Function Mode Selection). The selected
mode will appear in the Function Mode Indicator (Q).
5. Aim the infrared thermometer and press the trigger. The
multi-beam laser will activate and a circular pattern will
appear on the target. This defines the area being measured.
5.1 An area measurement at a distance of less than 36 in.
will be slightly wider than the multi-beam laser
indicates. This is due to the different in aperture size of
the laser and infrared lens (I). The measurement will be
in sync farther than 36 in.
6. Hold the trigger and the current reading (O) will appear in the
display. This reading can change during the measurement.
The scan icon (L) will also appear while the trigger is held.
