TROUBLESHOOTING
Visit a Princess Auto Ltd. location for a solution if the tool does not function
properly or parts are missing. If unable to do so, have a qualified technician
service the tool.
Problem(s)
Possible Cause(s)
Suggested Solution(s)
The burner fails to light. 1. Propane supply
valve is closed on the
propane tank(s).
1. Open the propane supply
valve slowly.
2. Blockage in the
burner/valve assembly.
2. Replace the burner/valve
assembly.
3. Piezo ignition system
not sparking.
3. Make sure the ignitor
electrode gap is 0.120 in.
(3.04mm). Check the
wire lead for damage.
Replace the piezo ignitor
and/or ignitor electrode
as necessary.
The burner lights but
goes out when the
automatic control valve
button is released.
1. Not enough
warm-up time.
1. Relight, hold the
automatic control valve
button in for 45 seconds.
2. Low gas pressure.
2. Check the propane
tank(s) for proper
gas supply.
3. Thermocouple is loose
or needs to be replaced.
3. Tighten the
connection or replace
the thermocouple.
4. The automatic
control valve needs
to be replaced.
4. Replace the automatic
control valve assembly.
The maximum burn
rate is low.
1. Low gas pressure.
1. Check the gas supply;
check the regulator output.
2. Low fuel supply.
2. Replace the fuel
supply tank(s).
3. Plugged gas orifices.
3. Replace the
burner assembly.
