GENERAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
HYDRAULIC SAFETY
IMPORTANT! Seek immediate, professional medical treatment if
hydraulic fluid penetrates the skin. Do not wait for the appearance of
symptoms. An infection or toxic reaction may occur from the exposure.
1. The hydraulic components require regular inspection.
Replace damaged hydraulic parts with the same
manufacturer’s components.
2. Do not attempt makeshift repairs to a hydraulic system. Such
repairs can fail suddenly and create a hazardous condition.
3. Use wood or cardboard as a backstop instead of hands.
4. Always ensure the hydraulic device is on a hard, flat and level
surface while in use.
5. Never exceed the load capacity of the hydraulic device
(see Specifications).
6. Do not adjust relief setting of hydraulic system.
7. Escaping hydraulic fluid under pressure may have sufficient force
to penetrate the skin.
7.1
Always check for leaks wearing a face shield or safety
goggles.
7.2 Wear rubberized gloves.
7.3 Wear protective clothes.
7.4 Do not use your hands to detect a leak. Use a piece of
cardboard or paper and watch for discolouration to find a
hydraulic fluid leak.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
WARNING! To reduce risk of electric shock, be certain that the plug is
connected to a properly grounded receptacle.
1. Disconnect device from power source before cleaning, servicing,
changing parts/accessories or when not in use.
2. Protect yourself against electric shocks when working on electrical
equipment. Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces. There is
an increased chance of electrical shock if your body is grounded.
3. Do not expose device to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a
power device will increase the risk of electric shock.
4. Do not disconnect the power cord in place of using the ON/OFF
switch on the device. This will prevent an accidental startup when
the power cord is plugged into the power supply.
5. Do not alter any parts of the device or accessories. All parts and
accessories are designed with built-in safety features that may be
compromised if altered.
