• Tool service must be performed by a qualified repair
professional using only manufacturer supplied
components.
• Do not use the laser for any function that the
manufacturer does not approve. Serious injury to eyes
could result.
• Make sure all individuals that are in the area that
the tool is being used are aware that a Class 2 Laser
product is being used. Make those individuals aware of
all laser hazards.
• Always use care when transporting, setting up, using,
and storing the tool. Inspect the tool each time it is
being used for damage. A damaged tool could result in
serious injury.
• Do not use optical tools such as telescopes, transits, or
cameras to view the laser beam. Serious injury to eyes
could result.
BATTERy SAFETy INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING:
Batteries can explode or leak
corrosive substance causing fire or injury. Always
follow the battery manufacturer’s instructions.
• Do not charge alkaline batteries.
• Do not short battery terminals.
• Do not mix new and old batteries. Replace all batteries
at the same time.
• Use only manufacturer recommended batteries.
• Do not mix the brand or type of batteries.
• Properly dispose of all batteries at a recycling center
or per local code. More information regarding battery
disposal in U.S. and Canada is available at; http://www.
rbrc.org/index.html, or by calling 1-800-822-8837
(1-800-8BATTER)
• Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
• Keep batteries out of reach of children.
• Remove batteries if the tool will not be used for several
months.
• Install batteries in the correct polarity. Positive (+) and
Negative (-) polarity are marked on the battery and the
tool.
PREPARATION
BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. Unscrew the small screw that secures the battery
compartment cover and remove the compartment
cover.
2. Insert batteries with the correct polarity. Match the (+)
and (-) symbol on the inside of the compartment with
the corresponding symbol on the batteries.
3. Replace the battery compartment cover and secure in
place with the small screw.
The measurement tool is intended for measuring distances,
lengths, heights, clearances, and for calculating areas and
volumes. The tool is suitable for measuring indoors and
outdoors.
Extreme temperature changes can reduce the accuracy
of the laser. Allow the tool to adjust to the ambient
temperature of the work environment before using.
Do not subject the laser to extremely cold or hot
environments.
Unfavorable conditions, such as intense sunshine,
poorly reflecting target surface (black surface), or high
temperature variations, could reduce the operating range.
Turn the tool off when not in use.
POWER BUTTON
This button is for turning the tool On or Off.
To turn the tool on, press the button firmly until the display
screen illuminates.
To turn the tool off, press the button firmly until the display
screen goes dark.
The tool will automatically power off after 3 minutes of
inactivity.
NOTE:
The laser beam is automatically activated when the
tool is initially powered on. After 30 seconds of inactivity
the laser beam will be deactivated. Press the “MEAS”
button to reactivate it before taking the next measurement.
MEASURE REFERENCE
A measurement can be started at the rear or the front of
the tool. Press the button to switch between them.
NOTE:
The default measure reference point is from the
rear of the tool. The tool will reset to its default when
powered on.

CLEARING DISPLAY CLEAR
Press the "CLEAR" button to undo the last action or clear
the last measurement. Repeat as necessary.
UNIT OF MEASURE UNIT
The tool can display measurement results in 4 units: Feet,
Feet and Inches, Inches or Meters. Press the "UNIT" button
to change to the unit you prefer.
NOTE:
The tool will remember to start with the previous
unit setting.
