9.2. Engine will not crank with the key or remote start
To check spark:
1.
Remove the spark plug cap and clean any dirt from
around the spark plug.
2.
Remove the spark plug and install the spark plug in
the spark plug cap.
3.
Attach the plug side electrode to your ground wire.
4.
Quickly turn the key in the ignition to START
position for a few cycles -- sparks should jump
across the gap.

Is there fuel in the tank?
Refuel the fuel tank.
Is the ignition switch on?
Turn the ignition switch to the “START”
position.
Is there enough oil in the engine?
Add the recommended oil.
Is there a spark from the spark plug?
Warning!

Be sure there is no spilled fuel around
the spark plug.
•
Spilled fuel may ignite.
If the engine still does not start, take it to
an authorized POWERHOUSE
®
dealer.
Replace the
spark plug.
Take the generator
to an authorized
POWERHOUSE

dealer.

Does the battery have a charge?

Fully charge the battery.

The battery must have at least 10V to power the fuel pump and the ECU before it will start by any method. If the battery has a
charge and the generator will not start, ensure that the battery is fully charged and try to start it again before proceeding to the next
troubleshooting step.
