To activate components with positive (+) voltage: Contact the probe tip to the positive terminal of
the component, the green negative sign “-” LED should light. Indicating continuity to ground. While
observing the green indicator , quickly depress and release the power switch forward (+). If the green
indicator went out and the red positive sign (+) LED came on, you may proceed with further activa -
tion. If the green indicator went off at that instant or if the circuit breaker tripped, the Power Probe
has been overloaded. This could happen for the following reasons:
• The contact is a direct ground.
• The component is short-circuited.
• The component is a high current component (i.e., starter motor).
If the circuit breaker tripped, reset it by allowing it to cool down (15 sec.) and then depress the reset
button.
Warning: Haphazardly applying voltage to certain circuits can cause damage to a vehicle’s electronic
components. Therefore, it is strongly advised to use the vehicle manufacturer’s schematic and diagnos-
ing procedure while testing.
Para activar componentes con voltaje positivo (+):
Establezca contacto entre la punta del probador y el terminar positivo del componente, el diodo (LED)
verde con el símbolo negativo “-“ debe iluminarse. Indicando continuidad a tierra (masa).
Mientras observa el indicador verde , momentáneamente oprima el interruptor de energía hacia adelante
(+) y libérelo. Si el indicador verde se apaga y el diodo (LED) rojo con el símbolo positivo “+” se ilumina,
entonces puede proseguir realizando activaciones adicionales. Si el indicador verde se apaga y en ese in -
stante su cortacircuito (disyuntor) se abre (dispara/tira), el Power Probe ha sido sobrecargado. Esto puede
ocurrir por las siguientes razones.
• El contacto que esta probando es una conexión directa a tierra (masa) o voltaje negativo.
• El circuito del componente que esta probando esta en corto.
• El componente es un consumidor de alta corriente (amperaje) (Ej. motor de arranque)
Si se abre (dispara/tira) el corta circuito, reestablezca su función oprimiendo el botón después de esperar
un periodo de enfriamiento.
ADVERTENCIA: Aplicar voltaje al azar puede causar daños a ciertos circuitos y componentes de los
sistemas electrónicos de los vehículos. Por lo tanto se recomienda enérgicamente la utilización de los
esquemáticos (diagramas) y procedimientos de diagnostico del manufacturero del vehículo.
TRICK: When powering-
up components, you can

instead of the contacts of
the switch.
