2. The infrared thermometer has a distance to measurement spot ratio of
12 to 1. The measurement area is 1 inch in diameter for every 12 inches
away. Ensure you are an adequate distance away to measure the area.
3. Aim the infrared thermometer and press the trigger (E). The multi-beam
laser (C) will activate and a circular pattern will appear on the target. This
defines the area being measured.
a. An area measurement at a distance of less than 36 in. will be slightly
wider than the multi-beam laser indicates. This is due to the different
in aperture size of the laser and infrared lens (D). The measurement
will be in sync farther than 36 in.
4. Hold the trigger and the current reading (L) will appear in the display. This
reading can change during the measurement
5. The highest temperature (N) registered during the reading will appear next
to the MAX icon (M).
6. The HOLD (K) function will automatically retains the measurement.
7. The thermometer automatically shuts off if left idle for more than
15 seconds.
8. Press the mode button after the tool is powered off to retrieve the last
reading in memory.
LCD ERROR MESSAGES
The thermometer incorporates visual diagnostic messages as follows:
1. ‘Er2’ is displayed when the thermometer is exposed
to rapid changes in the ambient temperature.
2. ‘Er3’ is displayed when the ambient temperature is
lower than 32°F (0°C) or exceeds 122°F (50°C). The
thermometer should be allowed plenty of time
(minimum 30 minutes) to stabilize to the
working/room temperature.
3. Error 5~9, for all other error messages it is necessary
to reset the thermometer. To reset it, turn the
instrument off, remove the battery and wait for a
minimum of one minute, reinsert the battery and turn on. If the error
