10. The supply voltage must be within 10% of the nameplate voltage. Incorrect voltage can cause
fire or seriously damage the motor and voids the warranty. If in doubt, contact a
licensed electrician.
11. Meet all national electrical code and local codes for all wiring.
12. Do not handle a pump or pump motor with wet hands, or when standing on a wet or damp
surface or in water.
13. Always disconnect the power source before performing any work on or near the motor or its
connected load.
14. Protect yourself against electric shocks when working on electrical equipment. Avoid body
contact with grounded surfaces. There is an increased chance of electrical shock if your body
is grounded.
WARNING! A qualified electrician should perform all wiring.
TOOL USE AND CARE
1. Do not alter any parts of the tool. All parts and accessories are designed with built-in safety
features that may be compromised if altered.
2. Make certain that the power source conforms to the requirements of your equipment.
3. When wiring an electrically driven device, follow all electrical and safety codes, as well as the
most recent Canadian Electrical Code (CE) and the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health
and Safety (CCOHS).
4. Always disconnect cables from the power source prior to repairs. Always reconnect cable to
the power source after the repairs.
UNPACKING
1. Carefully remove the tool from the box.
2. Inspect the parts carefully to make sure the tool was not damaged while shipping.
3. Do not discard the packaging material until you have carefully inspected and satisfactorily
operated the tool.
WARNING! If any part is missing, do not operate the tool until the missing parts are replaced.
Failure to do so could result in serious personal injury.
INSTALLATION
WARNING! Hazardous voltage can shock, burn or kill. Do not lift the pump by the power cord.
1. Install the pump on a hard, level surface (cement, asphalt, etc.). Never place the pump
directly on earth, clay or gravel surfaces.
2. For automatic operation, plug or wire the pump into an automatic float switch. The pump will
run continuously when plugged directly into an electrical outlet.
3. Connect or wire the pump to its own individual branch circuit with no other outlets or
equipment in the circuit. Size fuses or circuit breakers accordingly.
WARNING! Risk of electrical shock and fire. Can burn, kill or cause property damage. Be sure that
the power supply information (Voltage, Hertz, Phase) on the pump motor nameplate matches the
incoming power supply exactly. Install the pump according to all electrical codes that apply.
