It is easier to drain the compactor oil while
it is warm.
Place a suitable collection vessel under the
drain screw (19) and undo the drain screw.
Tip the compactor and allow the oil to run
out. Fill the compactor unit with fresh oil
and tighten the drain screw again.
Cleaning the air fi lter
Clean the air fi lter by loosening the wing
nut on top of the fi lter cover (12), remove
the cover and clean the fi lter using
compressed air. If the fi lter element cannot
be cleaned properly, replace it.
Cleaning and maintenance
Lubricate all moving parts as required. The
compactor and clutch bearings are sealed
and cannot be lubricated.
Check before every use:
Check the engine oil level and check for
leaks. Check that all bolts, nuts and fi ttings
are tight.
Check for defective parts.
Check that the operating mechanisms are
functioning correctly.
Clean the underside of the compacting
plate to prevent build-up of deposits.
Periodical service:
Check the oil level in the compactor.
Check the vibration-damping rubber shock
absorbers for wear and defects.
After the fi rst 20 hours of operation
Replace the engine oil.
Every 50 hours of normal operation
Clean the air fi lter.
Every 100 hours of normal operation
Replace the engine oil.
Every 200 hours of normal operation
Replace the oil in the compactor unit.
Check V-belt tension by loosening the
screws holding the drive belt cover (18) in
place, removing the cover and checking
that the V-belt (a) can fl ex 10-15 mm (b).
