Safety warnings
Fuel
Smoking and the use of open flames is prohibited
while mixing and adding fuel. Always stop the
engine and allow it to cool down before filling
the fuel tank. Mix and add fuel in a clean, well-
ventilated area.
Fuel should be stored outside the reach of children
in a clearly marked and approved storage area.
Use when possible the included petrol mixing can.
Wipe up any spilled fuel from the outside of the
unit immediately prior to starting the engine.
Never fill the fuel tank all the way up since the
petrol will expand once the engine is warm.
The bush cutter should be stored at a safe distance
from open flames or sparks, since the fuel or fumes
can otherwise be ignited.
Never remove the fuel cap while the engine is running.
Using the Bush Cutter
Wear safety glasses, heavy long trousers and
protective boots while operating the bush cutter
to protect eyes, feet and legs against objects
thrown around by the rotating blade or nylon line.
Do not let bystanders or pets come to within 15
meters (50 ft) while the bush cutter is operating.
If approached reduce the power to minimize the
risk of injuries due to objects from the grass being
thrown around by the rotating blade or nylon line.
Always use the U-handle and the included carrying
belt when operating the bush cutter.
Never use the bush cutter indoors.
Always stop and switch the engine off before
adjusting the bush cutter or the engine.
Clear the area to be cut before each use by removing
all objects that can be thrown around by the rotating
blade or nylon line. The lifespan of the cutting
attachment is reduced when you strike rocks, etc.
Stop the bush cutter immediately if the cutting
blade or nylon line becomes entangled. Do not
operate the unit again before the problem has
been solved.
Keep hands and fingers at a safe distance from the
cutting attachment, cutting blade or nylon line
while the bush cutter is operating, and while the
engine is switched off and the nylon line has not
come to a complete stop.
Never use the bush cutter if the lock switch is not
working properly.
The engine and muffler get extremely hot from
operation. Avoid touching these parts, and do not
leave the bush cutter in highly flammable material
(dry grass, fallen leaves, etc.) as long as the engine
is still hot.
Always dispose of fuel, oil and used filters in
accordance with the rules of your local authority.
Assembling the Bush Cutter
Installing and adjusting the U-handle and carrying
belt
Push the U-handle (15 and 10) in the U-handle
base (a) on the shaft tube (17) so that the handle
slants back towards the engine, adjust to the
location that provides you the best grip and
tighten the screws (b).
