▪ Place the log upright under the splitting knife.
▪ Align the log as required and pull the “Fixomatic” operating lever.
– The lower splitting knife section is lowered onto the log.
– If necessary, also press the log against the timber retaining tip to prevent it from
twisting.
If the retaining point does not fit on the log:
▪ Press both control levers downwards slightly at the same time so that the upper splitting
knife section slowly descends until the lower splitting knife section engages again.
▪ Press the two control levers upwards, thereby retracting the entire splitting knife.
– The log can now be realigned.
▪ Pull both control levers downwards at the same time.
– The splitting knife advances and splits the log.
– As soon as the control levers are released, the splitting knife halts.
▪ Press the two control levers upwards to retract the splitting knife again.
▪ The return stroke of the splitting blade can be changed using the shut-off rod.
– Loosen the wing nut and push the shut-off rod into the desired position.
If the wood presses against the guard bracket during the splitting process, the guard
bracket jumps out of the detent position and swings downwards. This means that the guard
bracket is not damaged.
Before starting a new splitting process, the guard bracket must be pressed back up again
into the working position.
